Never Underestimate the Power of Hope

Meet our Board

Jennifer Cherotich Bett, HH Global Board, Hopefull Handbags Global Vice President Kenya

Hello, I’m Jennifer Cherotich Bett, a proud mother of four – two sons and two daughters. Presently, I serve as the Vice President of Hopefull Handbags Kenya, an organization I’ve passionately been associated with for the past two years.

My academic credentials encompass a certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECDE). For several years, I diligently served in this capacity. Additionally, I’ve committed years as a Community Health Volunteer within my local community, experiences that now harmoniously blend with my current responsibilities at Hopefull Handbags Kenya.

I was inspired to be a part of Hopefull Handbags Kenya due to its noble mission. The organization not only extends support to survivors of domestic, child, and gender abuse, but it also has given me a platform to work collaboratively in uplifting our communities from these deep-seated challenges. I am ardently involved in motivating women, helping them to embark on self-sustaining endeavors like poultry rearing and gardening.

Furthermore, I proudly lead the HH SHINE Program, designed to empower individuals and guide them toward self-sufficiency.

My distinct contributions to the organization revolve around sanitation. I pioneer the initiative of crafting soap for schools equipped with water tanks and ardently teach women how to master the soap-making process, ensuring its widespread adoption in their communities.

Creativity resonates deeply within me. Sewing remains a cherished hobby, and I’ve crafted items ranging from tote bags to reusable pads, merging function with beauty. At the core of my aspirations lies a clear vision: to empower and uplift women and girls, equipping them with the skills and activities that foster both purpose and sustenance.
